Polymer components can be cleaned with a damp, even soapy cloth, but solvents should be avoided. Delicate dimensional polymer items should be stored in their box.
Copper items may be protected with a micro-layer of Renaissance wax. The wax can be removed with nail-polish remover. Copper that becomes tarnished can be brightened by a dip in lemon juice or vinegar with a pinch of salt dissolved in it, followed by a rinse in clear water.
Solvents may damage or remove chemical patinas.
Sterling silver items should be protected from oxidation by anti-tarnish paper or storage in a sealed plastic bag.
